Aliante Dinosaur Park.... and catch up stuff....

So I've been slacking a little bit on the blogging. I got a new canon camera which I am very happy about so I can take much better pictures with than my old (swear word) camera. So here is some pics of Clover at the park from a few weeks ago. She is getting very big and smart. Her latest and greatest is that she is climbing on everything like a monkey or mountain goat (which ever gives you the best mental picture). She is getting into all the top drawers in the house that I don't have locks on. She turns on and off and on and off the TV and cables boxes. She likes to dig in the trash can, sometimes she's good and will throw stuff away, but mostly she just likes to grab stuff out of it She recently got one of those toy cars that you can push them around in or they can walk themselves, but she refuses to do it herself so she demands someone push her around the house. She loves to chase the dogs around the house while trying to grab their tales and laughing and giggling like a school girl. She has learned her face features and likes to point to them on your face, actually she likes to poke your eyes out and grab your nose and ears. Her favorite body part is her belly. She lifts up her shirt and tries to say belly, then she lifts up my shirt until my bare stomach is exposed and slaps it and laughs. She is doing a lot more dancing and will do a shimmy if I say dancin machine, dancin machine watch me get down, watch me get down. Pretty much she is just a non stop crazy go 100 miles an hour nut case kid. But you gotta love her.

Happy Halloween

Clover had her first official trick or treating this Halloween. (last Halloween didn't really count since she was only 2 months old), but we went out and knocked on doors in my aunt's neighborhood and got some treats. (which i won't let her eat because my kid doesn't get candy..... whatever, you can say I'm mean but really she doesn't need the sugar ok!) So as you can see she is dressed up as a University of Oregon Duck cheerleader. We are grooming her young to know that she has no choice but to got to U of O. She was a bit bewildered why we were walking around to all these strange peoples houses but she grabbed candy just fine and when she saw an animal she tried to go into peoples houses. Also, I don't know if my kid is a freak or what but she actually likes the scary props and things of halloween and isn't scared by them at all.

Long Time Friends.....

Two weekends ago was my 10 year high school reunion. Fun fun, like I needed to be reminded that I'm getting old. But anyway it was nice to see old faces, socialize and get out and go to the activities they had planned. i went in a group with my long time friends Katie, Tricia, and Dawn whom I have known since junior high. I decided that we needed to get some pictures of us and our kids. And so the adventure began, going to the park to photograph 7 kids and 4 brave mommies. We got some good ones, but geez that was more than I bargained for. Who's great idea was it to try to take pictures of kids 11 months to 5 years old all together??? I guess I'm just ambitious (or crazy) you could say.

Birthdays

Yesterday was my birthday. Those who know me know I hate birthdays. I don't like the attention, I don't like getting older, and I'm usually in a grumpy mood. But I wanted to show everyone what I got for my birthday (which I bought myself because my husband just doesn't know what I want). Anyway I've been wanting these for awhile so this gave me the excuse to just get them. (And the good this is they are not expensive at all). There are a few sites that sell these but this is the sight I liked the best, had the cutest items and the best prices. Take a look at the pictures I got off the internet and see what you think. These are great ideas for births, anniversaries, or any occasion really. They are personal and cute. I got 3 charms. One of my daughters name and birthdate, one of me and roger's name and year married, and one of just my first name intial. Here is the website to take a look at all their products. underhercharm.co

roger did do something..... he got me flowers

Hobby Part II

front side

back

These are two of my other projects I just finished. I can't really take credit for the family craft because it was a kit that you just put together but it's really cute so I had to get it. The Halloween one I thought of all by myself. It was really easy too. Just some wood, acrylic paint and some scrapbook paper and stickers. You too can make these projects!

My New Hobby

Ok, everyone needs a hobby. So I decided my new hobby is to make crafty things for my home. I've always wanted to be the "Martha Stewart" type, but alas I have fallen drastically short. I don't even put up a single decoration for any holiday. (What kind of a monster am I?) But, now that I have a kid I think it is time to get cutesy and start to make crafts that our family can enjoy year after year. Now, when I first started this endeavor I thought, hey, this will be fun, help me to do something for myself, and it will be cheaper than just going out and buying a bunch of decorations. Oh no my friends, I was sadly mistaken. These projects are freaking expensive. I'm going to have to put myself on a craft budget! (As I'm saying this I have 3 other projects in the works as we speak!) So anyway this is my "attempt" at a halloween craft which I actually stole the idea from the scrapbook store Pebbles in my Pocket because I don't really have a creative bone in my body so I have to use others ideas for my own. Well, with a lot of hard work, running around to 3 different stores, and hours of sweat this is my final accomplishment. I think it's pretty cute.

Goofy Kid

My child is crazy. She has really gotten fun and in the past 2 months. She is really mobile, running around like a crazy person. She likes to get into anything and everything she can get her little hands on. She has started to imitate us on certain things like brushing teeth, combing hair, putting things in my hair, and she can make monkey and lion sounds when she sees their pictures. She is an on the go little toddler now. She also loves our dogs to death and waves hello to them in the morning when she wakes up, she tries to lay on them (but they don't like it) and gives them kisses. She has started to dance to music (well, she stomps her feet really fast if you call that dancing). She loves books, balls, and shoes, she knows a few things in sign language, and loves to eat. She loves all animals, especially dogs and cats, and she likes this stuffed boar (pig) head we have hanging in our garage, which she wants to touch every time we go to get into the car. She is a good little kid and I'm lucky to be her mommy.

Play Time at Gymboree

I have been feeling kind of guilty because I felt that I wasn't getting Clover the playtime and socialization with other kids that she needed. We hang out once in awhile with other friends that have kids, but not on a regular basis and it's mostly just me and Clover hanging out at home all the time. So... I decided it was time to get out and find something to do (I wish I would have thought about this much sooner). I checked into my local gymboree studio and we went to two free classes, Gym time and Music to see what it was all about. Clover's first experience with all the kids, parents, loud music and all the activities was a bit overwhelming, but I think she enjoyed it and we signed up for a once a week music class. Hopefully we will make some friends and Clover will get the playtime she deserves. It's a good time and I encourage everyone to check it out.

A Walking Wonderland

Clover is a walker now. She has actually been walking for about 2 1/2 weeks (at 11 1/2 months, I am so proud) but I haven't had a chance to get a video of it so I have failed to post about it. She just started taking more steps, then she could stand up on her own without pulling up on anything and I new she was close then. She would walk a little fall down, walk a little more fall down. Then she was crawling, walking about 50/50 percent of the time. Then she woke up one day and decided she was going to walk. She is still stumbling around like a drunkin sailor but she is no longer down on all fours on the floor. Thank heaven! I hated the thought of her crawling all over the floor and ground just getting filthy and nasty. It creeped me out. So now on to the next accomplishment, talking!!

Clover's 1st Birthday!

Clover is finally 1 year old. This year has really flown by and my baby isn't a baby anymore. I guess it is true what they say, they grow up fast. We had a dinner at my aunt's house and it was a pretty good time. Clover didn't understand the concept of a birthday of coarse, but i enjoyed having a little party for her. She really wasn't too interested in opening her gifts so the other kids had to help out. She did get to eat ice cream cake for the first time, which she gobbled down in fist fulls. She got a few cute little toys and some clothes, but what we decided to do (especially now because she doesn't understand about presents and because it's never to early to do this) is to start a college fund for Clover and have relatives and me and Roger contribute to it. Hopefully by the time 18 years rolls around she will be set to head off to college and not have to worry about how to pay for it. So, now my little one is a big girl, on to the terrible two's????

First Trip to the Beach!

We had to go back to Oregon this last week for some more testing for the sheriff's department position Roger is trying to get. The weather wasn't too cooperative, but we braved the fog, wind and the cold so Clover could have her first beach experience. The sand didn't seem to faze her a bit. We didn't stay down on the beach too long because of the wind but Clover seemed to like her short experience.

Our Excursion to Pump It Up

There is a place here in Vegas called Pump It Up where you can go and have birthday parties or just come and play with the kids. It has two rooms of huge jumpy inflatable slides and things to climb on. It is really fun. So me, Katie, & Tricia decided to hall all the kids over there to goof around. All the other kids were at least 3, and Clover only being 11 months I thought she could handle it but she was really scared and held onto me for dear life. I held her and went down the slide and climbed up the mazes with her but she wasn't too sure what was going on and didn't like it too much. Well, a lesson learned I guess. She did like the little push around car. So, besides the little freak-out on Clover's part we all had lots of fun.

Hair DO or Hair DON'T!

Ok, I get bored a lot and like to change up my hair, what girl doesn't. This time I'm not sure if I went overboard or not. I got my hair done today thinking I just needed a shorter easier cut for the summer. Then my hair dresser talks me into doing an all over warm brown color. (Something about we need to do this color now so in the fall we can add low lights and high lights, don't worry in a few weeks it will fade to a light brown bla bla bla...) Well, me being the sure I'll try it kinda person I said go for it. When she finished I was like holy cow, that is freaking dark! I don't even look like me. I love the cut. It is really short for me, but I think it's cute. It's the color that is a little shocking. When I came home my dad just laughed at me and Roger said what did you do! (That's never a good sign.) So I'm not too sure about it yet. I think I like it, and it will fade so hopefully it won't be as shocking as these pictures I took in a few weeks...... Comments.... Oh, and I'm not wearing any make-up in these pics so please excuse the just woke up crusty look!

Stuck Indoors

This stupid heat is getting really old. We can't go outside until the sun starts to go down and even then its almost unbearable. Clover wants to go out and play in the sunshine so bad and I feel like I have to keep her prisoner in the house because its just too hot for a baby to be going out in 110 degree heat so we have to come up with new ideas for playtime inside. My dad bought her a toybox and this is the card board box it came in. Roger decided to turn it into a tunnel/fort. See, kids do love the box more than the toy in it! Creative fun activities are key in this horrible Vegas summer! I can't wait until it starts to cool down!!!!!

Getting Some Fresh Air

Isn't it a "rule" of mommy hood that you have to have at least one picture of your child running around with no diaper and flaunting their bum proudly? Well, I've got my famous naked butt shot! My favorite picture is of Clover outside on our balcony holding on to the bars like shes in jail! Could it get more white trash than this, Ha! I don't really let my child just go naked all the time, she has had a little bit of diaper rash so I figured some fresh air would do her bum some good. So enjoy, and I know Clover will enjoy these pictures when I whip them out on her first date!!!
